It all started with some sketches way back in 1990 after a visit to the Vancouver Aquarium with our young family. The sketch below was the first idea page. Followed by a study for the first brooch in the series, next the sketch for "Belugascape". I think there were about a dozen brooches and pendants in the collection that year.
